  • The Legacy Footbridge (0.96 MiB)
Taziker’s research and development of FRP footbridges allowed us to design our very own footbridge innovation: The Legacy Footbridge. This was introduced as a solution for the rail industry to provide rail users and pedestrians with a safe and accessible route across the tracks. The innovative design is unique in its ability to be installed on pre-existing platforms and also seamlessly fit into any environment with its traditional aesthetic. The Legacy Footbridge holds all the benefits that come with using FRP materials which targets sustainability, durability, efficient installation and cost-effectiveness. Accessibility and security have also been prioritised in this design to ensure we put passengers first.

Surface Preparation and Protective Coatings
Surface Preparation and Protective Coatings
Surface preparation is the most important stage of providing a new protective coating system to a structure, as the quality of the preparation will determine the success of the final result. We understand the essential nature of the work we undertake in this field - preserving and protecting infrastructure while complying with regulations, standards, specifications and aesthetic requirements to satisfy our clients. By increasing the life span of a structure through specialised surface preparation techniques and professional protective coatings, everyone involved gains real job satisfaction and we have immense pride in our projects.Man wearing white PPE painting the Royal Albert Bridge inside encapsulation. Major Bridge Reconstruction - Installed in North Tyneside
Taziker was appointed by Nexus to carry out a major bridge replacement project on the Tyne and Wear Metro in 2022. The Tanners Bank bridge, which is located on the Metro line between Tynemouth and North Shields in North Tyneside, was removed to allow an entirely new bridge to be fitted. We removed the old bridge and installed the new bridge during a major line closure. The new bridge was fabricated at our specialist engineering facilities. The previous bridge was built in 1863 and had served Metro for the last 41 years but the new structure will ensure that trains can run in the area for many more generations to come. Additionally, it will allow greater clearance above the road so that more buses are able to get down to North Shields Fish Quay, creating greater connectivity for the local community.
Vital Bridge Refurbishment in Scotland: 100% Self-Delivered by Taziker
Taziker has delivered the structural refurbishment of new Creagan Bridge at Loch Creran, Scotland. The old Creagan Bridge acted as a railway structure going through the loch - it carried the Ballachulish branch of the Callander to Oban railway line over the loch. Following the closure of the line, the structure lay semi derelict for over 30 years before a scheme was devised to convert it for road use. The new bridge was opened at the start of the millennium and allows motorists to avoid the five and half mile journey around the head of Loch Creran, highlighting its importance to the trunk road users and the local community. The paint system was found to have deteriorated past its lifespan and so a new paint system was devised to ensure the structure was fully protected and preserved from any corrosion developing on the metallic elements. This project was one hundred percent self-delivered by Taziker, from the scaffolding and encapsulation to the grit-blasting and painting.
Refurbishing & Strengthening of River Parrett Viaduct - Removing & Relaying Railway Track
Taziker was contracted by Network Rail Capital Projects to carry out refurbishment and strengthening of a five-span railway viaduct over the River Parrett in Somerset. This also included removing and relaying the track. Located just outside the small town of Langport, the structure consists of two half through girder spans, a truss span and two masonry arch spans. The railway line is a major branch of the Great Western Main Line. Taziker successfully completed the project in a sixteen-day blockade; carrying out the strengthening work and repairs which increased capacity from RA5 to RA8. The track was handed back to Network Rail on time and the first train passed the structure on schedule with no faults.
Installation of New Footbridge over East Lancs Railway in Heywood
Taziker has completed a local project for Rochdale Borough Council to design, build and install a new footbridge over the East Lancashire Railway. Located at Schofield Street in Heywood, Greater Manchester, the new footbridge was constructed three miles away at Taziker’s specialist fabrication facility at Birch Industrial Estate. The project was delivered by Taziker Engineering Services division and demonstrates their ability to design, build and install a custom-made footbridge.
How Taziker refurbished two 150 year old footbridges in Cumbria (Wigton & Millom)
Taziker Industrial were engaged as Principal Contractor to undertake the refurbishment of the Wigton and Millom Station footbridges simultaneously. The work was delivered on behalf of Network Rail, as part of the Great North Rail Project, to ensure that the footbridges remain safe and reliable for passengers at Millom and Wigton for decades to come. At 150 years old, the structures have suffered significant wear and tear , therefore Taziker Industrial proposed at Tender Stage to lift the main spans off and bring them to the new facility in Heywood to restore the bridges before sending them for painting to our Supply Chain Partner NL Williams. The stairs were refurbished in situ by Taziker Industrial’s inhouse coatings department.
