Rinze Herrema has started his career -after his  study Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Delft - at the municipality of Amsterdam.  He has been working at Witteveen+Bos Since 2002 as engineer in the field of structural infrastructure and is director of the Business Unit Infrastructural Engineering. He worked on a wide range of projects, like restoration of historic bridges, inner city redevelopment, design of (movable) bridges, locks, tunnels and hybrid structures like fiber-reinforced composite bridges.     

For the bio-based bridge of Ritsumasyl, Rinze was strategic procurement consultant for the province of Fryslân, led the (design) team of Witteveen+Bos, participated in early contractor involvement (DRIVE) and was responsible for the development of the smart bridge monitoring concept.
