Bill Harvey Associates Ltd
Bill Harvey became a committed bridge engineer age 7 on a visit to Clifton Suspension Bridge. He has worked in construction and the academic world before setting up his own consultancy in 2000. His main interest is in work where others have failed to think through what is really happening. Much of that is around Masonry bridges where much of the industry hasn't moved forward from 1935. In recent years he has worked on Cleddau Bridge, Clifton Suspension Bridge, the masonry parts of the Ordsall Chord and the foundations under the amazing building that now sits over Cannon Street Station. He continues to research bridge behaviour and develop new ideas about analysis, these days, in close collaboration with Hamish.
