Rochester Bridge Trust
Sue Threader is a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers with senior-level experience in the public, private and charity sectors. She was the first woman to be appointed as chief executive of the medieval Rochester Bridge Trust, which owns three estuary bridges.
Sue writes on bridge engineering and recently appeared on Channel 5 with Rob Bell sharing her expertise on historic bridges. She is a member of the ICE Archives Panel.
She holds an Honorary Doctorate and an ICE award for outstanding career contribution to civil engineering. She was shortlisted for Charity Chief Executive of the Year three times.

Carbon neutral bridge management - achievable and achievedRochester Bridges Trust has reduced its ongoing carbon emissions in bridge management by 60% and is currently on target to reach full carbon neutrality by 31 March 2022. In addition, the Trust is currently planting an ‘ancient woodland of the future’ that will completely offset the embodied carbon generated during a major bridge refurbishment project recently completed.
