Peter is a highly experienced Bridges and Structures Engineer with over 40 years’ experience of designing, maintaining, refurbishing and managing a wide range of highway structures, including bridges and retaining walls. These include masonry, timber, FRP, steel and concrete structures on highways, footpaths and open public spaces. Many of the schemes have involved the refurbishment and strengthening of traditionally constructed ageing structures, including concrete bridges, metal bridges, timber footbridges and masonry retaining walls.
Peter is a member of ADEPT National Bridges Group concerned with Local Authority highway structures and represents ADEPT on BSi B/525/10 committee concerned with standards for bridges especially Eurocodes. He is also a member of BSi committee B/525/10 WG1 on traffic loading on bridges and is leading the working group drafting the replacement of BS6779-4 for masonry parapets. He leads the ADEPT NW Area Bridge Conference and Greater Manchester Bridges Group.
