Bridges TEN/20 Submit your suggestion by 31 January 2024 and be ready to be judged by the audience!

As part of the Bridges Conference programme, the organisers of Bridges 2024 have once again linked up with the Bridge Owners’ Forum and ADEPT to host a TEN/20 (aka Pecha Kucha) fast-paced session comprising mini presentations that would not necessarily warrant a full conference presentation slot but are nevertheless relevant and of interest to the bridge community.

The session is open to exhibitors and delegates from local authorities and academia to deliver mini-presentations on bridge-related developments.

Acceptable mini-presentations could include examples of innovative problem-solving in bridge design, construction or maintenance; new construction products; collaborative successes; new structural element protection details; summaries of research initiatives; innovative inspection methods; thoughts on bridge design and aesthetics; or even a light-hearted tour of unusual bridges around the world – the floor is yours!

A development for 2024 will be the opportunity for audience participation – attendees will be able to vote for their favourite Bridges TEN/20 mini-presentation. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in categories that may include:

  • Most interesting presentation
  • Most entertaining presentation
  • Presentation most aligned with the theme of the conference (Sustainability & Resilience)

At previous conferences this has been one of the most popular sessions – it is fast paced and full of variety!

If you would like to be part of this exciting event, please send details of your proposed presentation. If you have more than one suggestion, please make sure they are significantly different.

Entries from exhibitors and visitors should be emailed directly to Matteo DiNiro: Matteo.DiNiro@hertfordshire.gov.uk. The new deadline for submissions to the panel is now 31 January 2024.

All submissions submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by members of ADEPT and BOF, who will select up to 10 to present as part of the programme. The final step will be to prepare the slides to present their innovation in a ‘TEN/20’ format – up to ten slides that are each timed to show for 20 seconds.

Please note that ALL entries, whether selected or not, will be available for attendees to view in the Innovation Zone in the foyer at the exhibition.

Good luck from your Bridges Team!
